Dr. Scholl's is your friend ... but wait a minute:
The product that is marketed as "plantar fasciitis" didn't work for me (Too much arch build up). Instead a combination of their routine heel pads and full shoe inserts have worked well enough.
These steps also proved themselves important/useful:
1. went to a podiatrist to rule out heel spurs.
2. Followed his advise for moderately cool foot soaking (yes, cool! for foot cool down) after my walks w/modest rolling my foot a top of a tennis ball sized rubber ball.
3. went through each pair of walking gear & found a shoe insert that would give my feet a proper amount of arch support. (including my daily street shoes).
4. and of course moderated my foot time/rambles until noticeable improvement occurred.
Worked for me ... hope in helps in your situation.
