Keeping The Windmill Alive - Your Last Trip? – June 2015

In danger of losing your windmill?

Maybe you can share the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you used it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.).

Anything to keep your windmill alive.

This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.

I agree with you on this. Even Ft Worth is just as bad.

Nice little trip! I've been retired for a few years now, and love to travel. Unfortunately, my wife still works (she's ten years younger) so all I can do is dream for a while.... sad

No Where Special

No where special this week. Have a good week everyone. cool

Off to Newport and Back

Drove up to Newport, RI on Tuesday and returned Saturday. Trip back was terrible, Lots of stop and go traffic on the interstate in the greater New York/New Jersey area, three rear-ender accidents that required firetrucks, ambulances, and temporary road closure. Garmin HD traffic didn't pick up any of it. Boo!

Really glad to be back home!

Why? Does it have the ability to tell you which card games you'll have the best odds at or which slot machines are about to pay off?

Pearl Harbor to Wahiawa

1300 Mile Round Trip

Murrells Inlet, SC to Centreville, MD then to Taneytown, MD, then to Fairfield, PA, then to Vienna, VA, then back to Murrells Inlet. Preloaded destination addresses and the 3790 did a great job of getting us to each. Local travel at each stop. Traffic alerts were available near the DC area (which need them) and we avoided a mess on the DC beltway.

Tried Twin Peaks for the first time....

We were originally going to go out to the beach to try another new/old place, but as soon as I entered the destination into my Garmin, it said that I-4 had heavy traffic /accident wit ha 30-minute delay eastbound (I LOVE the live traffic updates!).

Had to go to Plan B; We've been to all the "breasteraunts" (Hooters, Tilted Kilt, etc) but never tried Twin Peaks before, and since there's only one in the Orlando area (on International drive - the tourist-trap area), I figured why not give it a shot.

Beer was icy cold (my wife is the beer drinker, not me...I just had an Arnold Palmer) so that was a plus, and the burgers tasted great, and the grilled veggies were outstanding, but I was surprised at how thin the burger was! I'm on a low-carb diet, so I can only eat the meat & cheese....I've had thicker burgers at the fast-food joints! Tasted very good, but left feeling hungry.... neutral
