Welcome.

Welcome to POI Factory. I'm not really clear about your question, but when it comes to why Garmin does something, you should probably ask Garmin. It is interesting that Garmin has made the 2013/2014 nuvi models incompatible with their Cyclops safety camera product, but who knows why they eliminate this or any of the other features they remove on new products?

That said, those of us here on POI Factory prefer the files available on this site anyway, so it is no big deal that Garmin doesn't offer the Cyclops product. I have a 3597 and the POI Factory files work great for me.

To the best of my knowledge there never has been a Nuvi with a "red light camera feature". Garmin has in the past had certain models that came with a one month trial subscription to a paid service called Cyclops Safety Cameras, which contain both speed and red light warning locations. You could also download both the trial and paid version to many other Nuvi models. What makes these Cyclops files unsupportable on the 3597, however, is a mystery,

On the other hand the school safety zone feature was added to a number of Nuvi models as part of a firmware/map update and the warnings are activated by data in the map files. This integrated warning system is different from the specialized .gpi files needed for the operation of the Cyclops system.
