Voting For 2013 Contributors Of The Year

It is time once again for the POI Factory community to select a contributor of the year!

Voting is now in progress and will run until midnight December 31st (Eastern Time).

Voting is open to General Maintainers only.
You have to be a General Maintainer to vote, and you have to be one to get voted for.

Here is a link to a list of all the General Maintainers:
www.poi-factory.com/pfu/general-maintainer-list

You vote for someone by clicking the button that says "Vote for This User" on their user profile page.

How you voted is not visible to other users, but a summary of people who've received votes is available on this page:
www.poi-factory.com/pfvote/summary

You only get to vote for one person; however you can change your vote if you decide to vote for someone else.

This discussion thread is the place to mention good things about your fellow users' contributions in 2013.

Don't be shy. If you have general maintainer stars, cast your vote today!

~Angela

Lots of General Maintainers qualify

My thoughts in no particular order

Throughout the year, the person that has been the most on target with answering questions has been CraigW. Charlesd45 has done so many truly outstanding FAQs that - actually I'm jealous of how good they are. Box Car makes comments that are thoughtful and to the point. And, let's not forget Turbocc (even though he is not in the General Maintainers listing right now)

Thanks to all of you who have created FAQs and are maintaining POI files. I appreciate it greatly.

Contributor of the year

I have been a member for a while at Poi Factory and like many others stay pretty close to the site. When making your selection this year I hope that you keep in mind that Poi Factory has a lot of members that don't post often as others but when you look at there user account. Then see all the files or type of files they are maintaining you really understand just how much support they contribute to the site. To me these members have a lot to do with what keeps the membership growing and others to stick around.

Look at the most popular poi files and see the ones that stay in the top 10 week after week. MRKenFL Rest Stops have been in the top spots as long as I can remember.Walmart by donaldb530 always holding a top spot. Only mention a couple but many more.

Can't overlook jgermann on all he has going on withe the tutorials, glossary and the FAQ.

Lot of selections out there and very easy to overlook a deserving member that you may not see posting each week.

It is so hard to decide.

There have been so many people who have help me with all my trivial questions.

There are so many on this site who post whenever an update is available and when there is information we may need to know.

Don't know what I would do without all of you.

A big thank you to everyone on this site.

My input on the voting....

When you vote for the COTY, consider the folks in here who take the time to call, email, post or otherwise contact the various manufacturers and provide meticulous documentation about the firmware bugs we all know about.

They (GPS manufacturers) may pretend they pay no attention, fail to respond, send a "canned email" or act like we're just a bunch of complaining/whining hacks, but I really do believe some of their contributions actually do make it into that beloved category:

"Misc. bug fixes"

How many times are you and your neighbors in the graveyard allowed to vote?

Hmm... wonder if there are people in here that have more than one user name, would kinda throw our total membership out of whack. The things i come up with....smile

I'm from Illinois, too. If no one wants to buy my vote, I'll vote for myself.

Thanks to you all, and to all a good night. Merry Christmas.

I voted - Thank you

I voted, but it was hard to pick just one. I find that several people contribute on a regular basis to nearly every thread that I read.

Thank you all for contributing even if you're not the COY.

My Gratitude To All

There are so many that deserve the honor but regretted I could only choose one.

There are many very intelligent members here that go out of their way to help other members in need.
This is certainly the most civilized forum I have been a member of. New members are welcomed and shown no question is stupid and ignored, and done so with respect.

I have learned a lot here and I'm appreciative of those who have educated me.

I thank all that have put in the time and effort to make this forum what it is, and that is the BEST .
