Looks like the Magellan 5145 mentioned above has a few useful features (including brand logo POIs, POIs Along Route, and pedestrian mode) that the 5045 does not.

The 5145 at WalMart costs a little over $80 with tax, vs. about $68 for the 5045 from Tiger after the MrRebates rebate.

Good catch on the features. Considering the map update subscription costs as much as the GPS, the ones for less than a hundred with lifetime maps are a good bargain. Kills me to think what I was paying 5 years ago for GPS's.

While shopping the local Target this evening I noticed they had Garmin nuvi 40LM marked with 30% off clearance tags. That brought the price down to $105. Located on an endcap in the electronics area.

Perhaps a decent price for those who prefer not to shop online. YMMV

Ordered one last night, looks like a good deal to me. My Nuvi 680 is running out of processing power, it gets busy when I need it most then misses turns. It is time for a new one.
