Houston Texas

Will be heading through Houston in the next few weeks, looking at staying west side of town. What is a good area for an over night stay.

West side.

I'd recommend San Antonio.

The Galleria area is best

The Galleria area is named after one of the largest malls in the country, and is surrounded by some of the best hotels and restaurants in Houston.

The biggest downside of the area is that it gets extrememly congested with cars so patience is absolutely necessary. And, if the red light cameras happen to be back on, there are several in the area.

The Galleria area is just outside "the loop" or I-610 ring highway so if you really want "west side" or further west along I-10, then those areas are pretty much suburbia in look and feel, so take your pick.

Houston

If you are just passing through, then I would get on the outskirts of the side of town in the direction that I was traveling. If you are spending any time, then The Galleria area is a nice area. For a longer stay San Antonio is better for sight seeing and relaxing.

Family was in San Antonio 4 years ago for a day, not enough time, especially The River Walk. Need to go back.
