Magellan Maestro vs Garmin Nuvi routine

routing engines

Routing engines are only one factor I would use in choosing a unit. Other factors I would put ahead of a routing engine would include ease of use, user features and ability to customize a unit to meet my needs.

Which GPS maker has a better routing engine?

I doubt that anyone here can give you a good answer to that.

I've had 2 Magellan's. Based on their performance and the Garmin reports I've seen here......I don't think there is a practical difference that you could pin-point with normal daily use.

Mine sometimes does dumb things for no logical reason; so do the Garmins. Unless maybe you are doing bicycle messenger service in NY, Chicago or LA and seconds litterally count.......the effeciency of the "routing engine" would be WAY down on my list of considerations.

Magellan Maestro 4250// MIO C310X

I'll go with Garmin

They both very good and similar in routing. But I go with Garmin for the stand alone unit and Magellan for the navigation app on my iphone.
