Triad Area

I enjoy any of the barbecue places in and near Lexington which is about 20 miles southwest of Greensboro. In particular we enjoy the Barbecue Center which is at the north end of town. We have been to many of the others but don't spend as much time in Lexington as we used to so basically only go to that one.

Triad region is loaded with wineries & vineyards

There's a file on this site of NC Vineyards that I'm a contributor to. Places have tasting rooms, and some have more than that, such as tours. I'm not a big wine drinker myself, but I buy bottles for friends. Figure it's nicer than buying the regular stuff from grocery stores, and it does something to support the local economy which is always good in this day.

Recommendations

I went to school at Wake. Definitely recommend Reynolda House and walking around the University. Pilot Mtn also offers a nice view and is an easy hike.
