Arizona reports that the speed cameras should have produced 127 million dollars in speeding fine revenues but only $36.8 million in fines have been paid so far.

While driving across that vast state last week it seemed there was a marked enforcement vehicle with flashing lights and a car/truck pulled over every place the Texas Speed Trap POI sounded its alert. (And other places as well.)

When Arizona motorist Dianne Patterson asked the Federal Highway Administration whether the city of Tucson violated the law by using violation lines, FHWA’s Acting Director of Transportation Operations, Paul Pisano, said it did.

"This decision could have major ramifications nationwide for the legality of red light photo enforcement."

I'm not quite sure how this works.

If I upload the database of speed trap cameras, will I get an audio and visual alert each time I approach one?

I just found this site and it looks real nice!!

I did a quick search but I have a few questions.

After I download and install the Red light files. And new updates come out most Wed. How do I update? Do I overwrite the files I already have on my Garmin? Will the updated new file have all the old info in it?

OK, so you have knowledge that a particular intersection has a RLC, what do you do about it? Do you change your route to avoid that intersection or do you change your driving habits only when you pass thru that intersection? I'm at a loss as to what value the RLC data is and why everyone else feels it's beneficial to have this data in your GPS. Please enlighten me.

This hasn't been verified yet but, My wife called me today she said she noticed what appears to be a redlight camera being installed in Brinkley Arkansas. Brinkley is a small town about 72 miles east of Little Rock, AR and about 72 miles west of Memphis, TN.

My wife said the camera is being installed at the street entry that takes you to I-40 west towards Memphis.

It is getting interesting. So far in Indiana only, but may be coming soon to you

I recently got a ticket in the mail from a construction zone camera. The ticket claims that I was going 63mph in a 55mph construction zone (The Baltimore Beltway near Charles street). The notification has pictures, but I can not see any evidence of my speed from the pictures.

I was against cameras for very long. But on this forum there was so many people, who were insisting that they are mostly (if not exclusively) for my own good. You know, the "honest politicians who do everything to save stupid people from danger on the road" sort of routine.
And than something like this comes from one of those politicians:

Santa Ana, CA has suspended ticketing with their red light cameras in Orange County, CA.

They had a number of tickets dismissed by a judge because they failed to give 30 days notice when they installed a new camera. They had been sued repeatedly and lost, so they decided to suspend the whole program (or at least the tickets) until 12/28/2009 at midnight, when they will start up again.
