Updated nuvi 265WT but 7.16.1.0 still show map update

I had updated the 265 map this morning with GE 7.16.1.0; no issues and the device showed 2024.10 All US and All Canada & Mexico installed. After doing the GE 7.16.1.0, it again shows a map update is available so I let it proceed. Same maps shown as below and GE still says The map update is available.

Garmin Express Release Notes

Garmin Express v7.16.1 is available for PC today. If you would like to update to the latest version, please visit “About” within the Settings of the Express application and select “Check for Updates to Express.” This version includes the following changes:

• Fixed an issue with critical software updates not requiring a restart before a map update.
• Extended timer to prevent failure for installing maps to the computer.
• Fixed a crash when saving a music folder path manually.
• Other minor bug fixes and improvements.

It won't install to computer

7.16.1.0 installs the map update to Garmin devices for me: two Win 11 PCs, multiple nuvis and DriveLuxe, but this Garmin Express will not install the map to the computer for use with Basecamp on either Win 11 PC, either being done as an "install to device and computer" or "install to computer." mad

Thumbs down to Garmin.

Map install to PC should be working now. Was able to install it earlier today to a PC.

Interesting.... Last GE did

Interesting.... Last GE did not indicate that Nuvi 660 had a map update available.... And I though it had been 'purged'...

Now 660 shows it has a map update in this version....

Will have to dig it out and see if the road name truncate issue is fixed..... or it tries to load entire map on SD card...

Positive direction! It saw that SD Card needed a partial update not full update... That is one of the two issues last one had that is fixed.....

Update proceeds.... Now if road names are not truncated!!!

Darn! 660 Sees the update...

Darn! 660 Sees the update... Uses the update.... But all the road names are Truncated!!!

It's a problem with some older devices and the newer maps, no fix as far as I'm aware

When I approached Garmin on

When I approached Garmin on it a year ago, they claimed they never heard of it before. But for: “never hearing of it before”, they were quick to say it would not be fixed.
Now during the time (2-3 maps ago) they also were downloading entire map to SD CARD also, instead of partial maps. That part was fixed, but not street names.

I suspect it’s a feature of the small screen size of 660. Surprisingly…. Routes are still working, but the street names are all truncated.
