Viewing BMPs on Garmin Nuvi 660

I have been successful in adding BMPs and CSV files to my nuvi 660. However, I was curious of how to view the BMPs when driving. My hope was that I could see (Shell gas stations) at each exit as I drive by on a long trip. Right now I can see the BMPs if I touch directly at the checkered flag at the end of a trip.
I had seem some Honda navi screens show a gas station or McDonald's logo as you drive by and was hoping to replicate the effect with my Garmin.
Any ideas?
